New Laval call centre to serve Bell residential customers in Québec and Ontario

LAVAL, October 25, 2011 -- Bell and Laval Technopole today announced that a new state-of-the art call centre in Laval is now serving Bell residential customers across Quebec and Ontario, creating approximately 400 new jobs in the Montréal region.

"Bell is committed both to delivering the best customer experience possible and to investing in our service operations in Québec and right across Canada," said Martine Turcotte, Vice Chair, Québec for Bell. "This new Laval centre features the latest call centre technology in a customer-focused, collaborative work environment that will deliver exceptional service and support for Bell residential customers."

Operated by Bell subsidiary Nordia, the new centre is equipped with the latest customer service support systems, will operate 7 days a week and is strategically located at the junction of Highways 15 and 440 for easy access by employees in the growing region.

"Attracting and retaining the most skilled and enthusiastic customer service representatives is key to our success," said John DiNardo, President of Nordia and Vice-President, Customer Operations for Bell. "We chose Laval because of its strategic location between Montréal and the North Shore, its well-equipped transportation network and its quality of life."

Said Gilles Vaillancourt, Mayor of Laval: "We are proud that Bell has selected Laval for its newest call centre. By providing opportunities for Lavallois to work close to home, this modern facility perfectly exemplifies the social, economic and environmental objectives behind Laval's ÉvoluCité initiative."

This year, Nordia expects to increase its employee base by 25%. Bell is hiring call centre workers and field service technicians in Québec and Ontario to support new services such as next generation Fibe TV, the most advanced TV service available in Canada, as well as Bell's high-speed Fibre to the Home initiative in Québec City.

Bell is investing approximately $3 billion per year to build out its world-leading broadband fibre and mobile LTE networks across Canada to deliver the most advanced TV, Internet and wireless services available.
