Bell expands Wireless Home Internet to Lanark County and the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville

Innovative service brings fast Internet access to dozens of rural communities in Eastern Ontario

MERRICKVILLE, ON, January 15, 2020 – Bell today announced a further expansion of its innovative Wireless Home Internet service to rural areas in Lanark County and the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville south of Ottawa.

Broadband Internet access is now available to eligible residences in Carleton Place, Kemptville, Merrickville, Mississippi Mills, North Gower, Oxford Mills, Perth, Smiths Falls, Spencerville and many other rural communities in the Townships of Augusta, Beckwith, Drummond/North Elmsley, Lanark Highlands, Montague and Rideau Lakes.

Fully funded by Bell, Wireless Home Internet is projected to ultimately reach at least 1 million rural households throughout Atlantic Canada, Québec, Ontario and Manitoba.

Delivered over Bell’s advanced LTE wireless network in the 3500 MHz spectrum band, Wireless Home Internet is 5G-capable technology specifically designed to extend broadband Internet communications to previously unserved or underserved communities. Wireless Home Internet customers also receive the advanced Bell Home Hub modem to provide fast Wi-Fi throughout the home and the service can also be bundled with Bell Satellite TV.
