Bell launches Canada's first Business Apps Store for SMB customers

A one-stop marketplace for web-based software applications created for SMBs

MONTREAL, Feb. 2 2011 -- Bell today announced the launch of the Bell Business Apps Store at bell.ca/businessapps, offering small and medium businesses (SMBs) across the country one-stop access to a wide range of web-based software applications. It's the first cloud computing service of its kind in Canada.

The new Bell Business Apps store allows SMBs to run their business and respond to customer needs more effectively by delivering up-to-date, leading software applications without the high cost of ownership associated with purchasing software.

"Bell is demonstrating our continued commitment to providing innovative and cost-effective productivity tools to small and medium businesses," said Matthew Hurley, Bell's Senior Vice President, Small Business Market.  "We look forward to providing SMB customers with best-of-breed business apps, enhancing the store's features based on user feedback and we invite the developers of Software-as-a-Service Applications to participate by contacting us through the Bell Business Apps Store."

Bell makes it easy for SMBs to get the apps they need
The Bell Business Apps Store will offer a wide variety of small business applications, including accounting, project management, collaboration, customer relationship management and other applications previously managed by staff, reducing costs and increasing productivity. As with all Bell products and services, the online applications in the Bell Business Apps Store are protected by the highest level of security standards in the industry.

Companies that subscribe to applications through the Bell Business Apps Store will be able to access and fully manage their subscriptions and users through a single easy-to-use portal. There are no activation fees and apps are billed to a credit card each month based on the number of subscribers, so companies pay only for the apps required.
