MONTRÉAL, May 26, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - Bell today launched the Fibe TV app, a revolutionary new way to watch Canada's best television service. Recreating the full Fibe TV experience on any screen, with access to hundreds of live channels at home or on the go, and over 7,000 hours of on-demand programming, the Fibe TV app is available to all Bell Fibe TV customers as a free iOS and Android download starting today.
"The Fibe TV app truly changes the game in television by bringing the full power of the Fibe experience to your mobile devices," said Rizwan Jamal, President of Bell Residential Services. "With more channels than any other app and a feature-rich, easy-to-use interface, the Fibe TV app means watching television just got better."
With the app, Bell Fibe TV customers can watch broadcast or on-demand content on a smartphone or tablet and switch to viewing on their TV set with the tap of a button. The app also doubles as a remote control, providing access to the Fibe TV programming guide and the ability to manage recordings at home or on the go. Other features include integrated Rotten Tomatoes ratings, filters to easily select content, favourite channel setting, parental controls and more.
In addition to smartphones and tablets, Bell customers can use the Fibe TV app on the Apple Watch to control their television, navigating the menu, selecting a channel from the favourites list, or calling up the on-demand store, guide or PVR. Fibe TV customers can also start, pause and record a program, skip back and skip forward, and change channels, all from their Apple Watch.

Leadership through TV innovation
Since its launch at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2010, Bell Fibe has introduced non-stop innovation to Canadian television. Wireless TV lets customers watch HD TV anywhere in their home from up to 5 additional TVs. The exclusive Restart feature lets customers rewind and watch TV shows already in progress from the beginning on more than 170 channels, including CBC, CTV, Global, HBO Canada, Super Channel and TSN. Bell continues to see its TV subscriber numbers grow, adding more than 150,000 net new customers in 2014, and another 26,990 in the first quarter of 2015. With 2.65 million total TV customers, Bell is now the second-largest television provider in Canada.
Bell is keeping the momentum rolling forward with plans to invest $20 billion from 2015 to the end of 2020 to expand both its broadband fibre and 4G LTE mobile networks. Bell invests more in the nation's communications infrastructure than any other provider, ensuring Canada remains competitive at a global level in next-generation broadband communications.
